Description: 

Callisto is a very sweet and outgoing 2 year old Calico kitty. Callisto came to us heavily pregnant and with a badly broken and dislocated leg. Callisto had her babies a mere week after she came to us. All of her kittens have been adopted and are happy in their forever homes. We spoke to many vets to see if we could save her leg, but because it happened so long ago and it was already healed incorrectly, there was nothing anyone could do. Our choices were to let her live in pain or to amputate. We finally decided to amputate and Callisto couldn't be happier. She tells her foster parents every day how thankful she is to not be in pain anymore. She adjusted to walking on 3 legs quickly like she had been doing so all along. Callisto now enjoys being on the top of the kitty trees and would absolutely love to have one in her new home. She also enjoys playing with string toys and mice. Callisto has a dominant personality and since she had an injury, she can get defensive. Due to that, it will take her some time to get to know any other cats in her new home, but she is a very sweet girl and will adjust. She has never been around dogs so we are unsure how she will react to one. Callisto's favorite things are bird watching, and sitting next to her person for some love and attention. She even enjoys having her belly rubbed and will roll over for you to pet it! Callisto had a very rough start to life but now all she wants is to know she is loved and to be a part of a loving family. Please ask to see Callisto today!
